Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th February

8th February, 2018.

Arrrggghhh!

I’ve got an earworm … !

I know I’ve mentioned the idea, before now.

But, just in case you didn’t know what an earworm is, it’s a song: it’s, more specifically, the song that — sometimes for no apparently reason — is currently, and repetitively, going through your head.

I usually get the beggars first thing in the morning.

And this morning?

It’s Madame Butterfly.

By Malcolm McLaren.

Blowed if I know why!

Just so you know … ?

And just in case you were reading me, yesterday?

Yes: I’ve had the hospital appointment: the one checking out the chest pains I’ve been getting.

Hmmm …

In the nurse’s opinion — after a whole series of questions, a stethoscope to the chest and another ECG — I’m not looking at angina …

Yet.

But she is concerned enough to want to book me up for a CT scan: to check on my coronary arteries.

It’s long and drawn out.

But all good.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Hear they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q2) MP, Steven Milligan, was found dead on 8th February, 1994.   What was he wearing?

Q4) 8th February is the feast day iof Saint Ælfflæd of where?
Q5) Finally … 8th February, 1922, saw President Warren Harding introduce the first what to the White House?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q2) The fastest person to complete a solo, round-the-world yacht trip, did so on 7th February, 2005.   Who was that sailor?
Q3) Leo 1st became Byzantine Emperor on 7th February, 457.   He was also know as Leo the what: Lion, Thracian or Tree?

A4) North Korea.
Q5) Finally … the IRA launched a mortar bomb attack on 7th February, 1991.   On where?
Here’s the thought for the day …
“The thing that bothered me was that Batman didn’t have anyone to talk to, and it got a little tiresome always having him thinking. I found that as I went along Batman needed a Watson to talk to. That’s how Robin came to be.”
Bill Finger, February 8, 1914 – January 18, 1974, co-creator of Batman.
A song …

You can find my thoughts about episode fourteen of Star Trek: Discovery, here.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Got to confess, I didn’t take the tablet, Olga‡: think I spent most of the bus trip looking out of the window, watching the world go by.   I was interested in seeing how the places on route to Basildon had changed over the past few years.   At ANY rate … ?   The appointment went well enough: it’s now just a case of editing for the scan to turn up.   (I could never get the hang of some of the written symbols used to indicate how names are pronounced.   Wikipedia does do a pronunciation guide for SOME words.   But … )

†        I remember reading Wasp Factory a long time ago, Debbi‡: that’s a strange turn of mind Banks had!   Saying that … ?   Apparently he wrote it to try And advertise his SF works to publishers.   Strange how these things go!   Oh, about that car Elon launched?   Did you SEE the note on the dashboard … ?   Laugh doesn’t even start … !

‡        Oh, talking of the videos … ?   THINK I’ve managed to get them looking how I want …
